Hello Hmong LGBT and Allies,

I am honored to be the first and new Executive Director of Shades of Yellow, the first Hmong LGBTQ organization in the world.  I am a proud Hmong gay who has a passion to advocate on behalf of the Hmong LGBTQ community here in the Twin Cities and throughout the world.  As I step up into this monumental position, I promise to begin structuring an organization so that Hmong LGBTQ issues and concerns are heard and ultimately dealt with.  Gone are the days where the unheard are unheard of and the different are shunned away.  As ED of this great organization, I promise to empower myself to empower each and all of you to do great things for yourself, your families, and the community and society you live in.  I challenge each and all of you to make a difference, not only in the LGBTQ community, but the community we all live in.

As I embark on this journey with SOY, I look forward to working with and engaging each and all of you in the community who has a stake in this organization.  While I stand as the Executive Director, I still share the same struggles and hardship that each of you go through.  Let us work together and do positive change to this organization and to each other, so we all can represent and serve this community well.
